As much as you may want to dig into a steak and red wine first day back, remember to not overload your organs and body during the transition and undo all the internal balance you have now earned.

Take it slow!
Don’t rush back into your habitual life and foods, they’re not going anywhere. Respect your body and the hard cleansing work it has done for you.

Follow a Transition plan
Incorporate habits from your cleansing program to continue to support your health. Such as drinking lemon water upon waking, eating only fruits or our raw juice before noon, keeping well hydrated and replacing a meal once in a while with our juice. The Forever plan is a good choice to incorporate a juice a day in your first transition week.

Repeat
Regular detoxification is a great way to maintain your health. Cleansing removes toxicity, layers at a time, the more you cleanse, it taps deeper and addresses different areas. We recommend doing a 3 day cleanse, and the continuing with a maintenance cleanse every other month.

What should I do before I start a cleanse? /learning-center/what-should-i-do-before-i-start-a-cleanse/ /learning-center/what-should-i-do-before-i-start-a-cleanse/#comments Mon, 30 Nov 2015 05:45:23 +0000 /?post_type=kbe_knowledgebase&p=665 It is very important to prepare the mind before the body. In addition some changes to help the transition from solid foods to juicing can help the process be easier and more enjoyable. Proper preparation is as important as doing the cleanse itself.

Clear your calendar. Choose a week where extra work and social engagements will not distract and possibly tempt you, during your cleanse. Dedicate a week to prepare and a week for your cleanse, as a gift to yourself to nourish and heal.

Cut out acid forming foods. This means cutting out or significantly reducing:

  • Alcohol
  • Dairy
  • Refined Sugar
  • Animal Products
  • Processed Foods

Hydrate!! Become more mindful to hydrate yourself at a cellular level. Which means by eating water rich fruits and vegetables, starting your day with lemon water and drinking at least 2 liters or half a gallon on purified water a day. It is a good practice to also eat only fruits before noon.

Dedicate and make an intention. A clear intention and positive mindset to begin reaffirming your commitment, take the challenges and make your goal a reality.

What about getting my fiber? /learning-center/what-about-getting-my-fiber/ /learning-center/what-about-getting-my-fiber/#comments Mon, 30 Nov 2015 05:43:37 +0000 /?post_type=kbe_knowledgebase&p=663 When juice is extracted from fruits, vegetables or cereal grass, fiber is lost from the pulp. Fiber is essential to proper digestion and optimal health, however removing it, is good with respect to a cleanse as the phytonutrients, enzymes and vitamins are more rapidly digested and absorbed and thereby speeding up healing and regeneration. Digestion is one of the most energy intensive processes in our body, by taking a break from this we are freeing up energy to be directed towards the cleansing process.

How do I get my protein on a cleanse? /learning-center/how-do-i-get-my-protein-on-a-cleanse/ /learning-center/how-do-i-get-my-protein-on-a-cleanse/#comments Mon, 30 Nov 2015 05:43:21 +0000 /?post_type=kbe_knowledgebase&p=661 Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. The meat and dairy industry has influenced us to assume that protein only comes from these sources. In fact the most bio-available way to get protein is to take in a wide array of amino acids. A multitude of fruits and vegetables will ensure you are getting an array of essential amino acids. The effect of a cleanse is magnified from the break taken from the energy robbing process of digestion, it is thus helpful to take a pause from digesting concentrated forms of protein.

Can I do a cleanse while I’m pregnant or nursing? /learning-center/can-i-do-a-cleanse-while-im-pregnant-or-nursing/ /learning-center/can-i-do-a-cleanse-while-im-pregnant-or-nursing/#comments Mon, 30 Nov 2015 05:42:42 +0000 /?post_type=kbe_knowledgebase&p=657 Doing a strict juice cleanse is not recommended when you are pregnant or nursing, as the toxins released into the system may be circulated to the unborn or into the breast milk.

You may supplement your healthy diet with raw juice to take advantage of these bio-available nutrients. Be sure to talk to your doctor specific to your condition. Because fresh juice is unpasteurized, it can contain harmful microorganisms, such as potential dangerous strains of E. Coli, make sure to buy fresh juices from reputable sources. We at JUICEssential use the strictest standards of hygiene to ensure a safe and nutritious product.

Why do I feel nauseous? /learning-center/why-do-i-feel-nauseous/ /learning-center/why-do-i-feel-nauseous/#comments Mon, 30 Nov 2015 05:41:26 +0000 /?post_type=kbe_knowledgebase&p=651 The concentrated forms of vitamins and minerals allow toxins to be flushed via our bloodstream resulting in nausea. This is only temporary, if it is very bothersome, it helps to consume the juice slowly over a period of time and/or diluting it with good quality water.

What can I expect while cleansing? /learning-center/what-can-i-expect-while-cleansing/ /learning-center/what-can-i-expect-while-cleansing/#comments Mon, 30 Nov 2015 05:41:03 +0000 /?post_type=kbe_knowledgebase&p=649 Every individual is at different levels and adjusts differently. As toxins and wastes are pushed to the surface and the process of detoxification begins, some people will start off with unsavory effects, they may or may not include, light-headedness, headaches, skin eruptions, nausea, fatigue and body odor. The most common of these is nausea, which will be alleviated by drinking plenty of good quality water. The detoxifying process is quite an energy consuming function so make sure to listen to your body and rest if you feel tired. It is normal to feel worse before you feel recharged.
