What are Enzymes?

Enzymes are energy. The saying ‘nature cures’ refers to enzyme activity because no other mechanism in the body can cure you. The other components of nutrition, namely protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals are only building blocks. They do not perform work. Enzymes give them the capacity to work and perform the biochemical reactions to digest and assimilate these building blocks. Living fruits and vegetables have their enzymes in tact. Heat from cooking destroys living enzymes, different from vitamins in this respect, which are not destroyed by heat.​ Which is why cold-pressed juicing, although may be more expensive, retains these enzymes, thereby producing a more bio-available array of nutrients.
